DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA

This is my electronic photo album on San Diego Bay and Downtown San Diego, two of my favorite places to visit. Captivating San Diego Bay is a natural harbor and deepwater port located near the US-Mexico border. It is considered to be one of the best natural harbors on the west coast of North America.

San Diego Bay offers incomparable entertainment, dining and adventure from Point Loma along Harbor Drive to Shelter Island, and Harbor Island. Harbor Island on the Bay is the base of San Diego's world-famous sportsfishing fleet and America's Cup harbor.

Step back in time at San Diego's Maritime Museum and roam the decks of historical ships, including the Star of India, a tall ship that first sailed in the 1860's and remains as the world's oldest active ship. The museum's impressive collection includes the 1898 steam ferry Berkeley, the 1904 steam yacht Medea, the state's official tall ship, Californian, and the HMS Surprise, a magnificent replica of a Royal Navy frigate that was featured in the award winning film "Master and Commander".

Picturesque Seaport Village is a fantastic weekend getaway that offers an eclectic mix of charming bistros and boutiques, live music and talented street performers.

San Diego's downtown is the heart of the city and offers a plethora of options for exciting night life activities, fabulous dining experience and exceptional cultural attractions. The Gaslamp District is a very popular tourist destination with its trendy nightclubs, rooftop bars and fine dining establishments.

Shasta near its northern border, California is without a doubt a vacationer’s paradise. I hope that my photos have given you a glimpse of the immense beauty and wonder of the Golden State.
