HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA

This is my electronic photo album on Hollywood, California, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Golden State. Although Hollywood is a geographic district in Los Angeles, for most, it's a state of mind. "I'm going to Hollywood" is a universal declaration for young hopefuls who dream of becoming movie or television stars.

Hollywood attracts millions of visitors each year who travel there to pay homage to their favorite stars and experience the glitz and glamour of the film, television and music industries. Sometimes, they get lucky and catch a glimpse of a few famous personalities.

The Hollywood Sign is a famous landmark in Los Angeles and a famous American icon. It is located on Mount Lee and overlooks Hollywood. The Hollywood Walk of Fame's star-studded sidewalks stretch for eighteen blocks along both sides of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks along Vine Street. These renowned sidewalk stars salute the celebrities who made Hollywood great, from the silent film stars of yesteryears to the modern action heroes of today's blockbusters.

It was once said that "To visit Los Angeles and not see the Grauman Chinese Theater is like visiting China and not seeing the Great Wall". The Grauman Chinese Theater's opulent, awe-inspiring presence and history has been a cornerstone of Hollywood for over seventy-five years.

The grand opening of the most famous movie theater in the world on May 18, 1927, was the most spectacular theater opening in motion picture history. The film being premiered that night was Cecil B. Demille's "The King of Kings". The Chinese Theater is the most sought after theater in Hollywood for studio premiers. More than four million tourists from all over the world visit this theater every year.

Thank you for visiting my photo blog. There are so many California tourist attractions, it’s hard to know where to begin. From Sea World-San Diego in the south to majestic Mt. Shasta near its northern border, California is without a doubt a vacationer’s paradise. I hope that my photos have given you a glimpse of the immense beauty and wonder of the Golden State.
