SAN DIEGO MUSEUMS AT BALBOA PARK

This is my electronic photo album on the fabulous San Diego Museums at Balboa Park. The largest cultural complex west of the Mississippi, San Diego's Balboa Park is sometimes referred to as the "Smithsonian of the West" for the concentration of cultural institutions within its boundaries.

Originally built during the 1915-16 Panama-California Exposition in San Diego, the buildings here are beautiful enough to be considered attractions in themselves. But the real draw is the culture, history, science, and arts held within their walls. Among its spectacular attractions include eight breath-taking gardens, fifteen phenomenal museums, a Tony Award-winning theater, and the magnificent San Diego Zoo.

Thank you for visiting my photo blog. There are so many California tourist attractions, it’s hard to know where to begin. From Sea World-San Diego in the south to majestic Mt. Shasta near its northern border, California is without a doubt a vacationer’s paradise. I hope that my photos have given you a glimpse of the immense beauty and wonder of the Golden State.
